South Korea's Samsung has announced its readiness to produce about 80 million OLEDs for Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 phone before the end of the year.
The Apple Insider site said that Samsung will produce these screens not only for iPhone 8, but even for the iPhone 7S.
Apple Inc. said Apple's demand would take about half of Samsung's production capacity for the remaining six months until the end of 2017. The South Korean company will use its remaining production to meet its own needs.
Apple signed an agreement with Samsung to produce next-generation iPhone screens before the end of the year.
Earlier media reports revealed that Apple will rely on OLED screens, which are flexible and paper in the latest version of its smartphone for iPhone.
The same reports said the demand would cost Apple 5 trillion won (about $ 4.35 billion).
